Start with the business task
Define the job, the user, the source material, the time available, and what a useful result changes. Choose the model only after the task is clear.
Decide where people stay in control
Be clear about when a person reviews, corrects, overrides, or escalates. Human control should be part of the product, not a disclaimer below it.
Plan for bad data and edge cases
Sources can be missing, wrong, or out of date. The product should show uncertainty and give people a safe route when the automation cannot decide.
Test it in the real workflow
Accuracy is only one measure. Test whether the product saves time, helps people make better decisions, explains its limits, and behaves well on the cases that matter.
A useful AI product starts with a job worth improving—and earns trust by showing where people remain in control.
